Botanical Garden of Vauville Castle

The label ‘Notable Garden’ was established by the French National Committee of Parks and Gardens (institution created by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication in 2003), for the purposes of recognizing gardens of exceptional design, botanical quality and maintenance whether they be private or publicly owned, protected or unprotected as historical monuments. Based on a 5-year term and subject to Committee proposal, the ‘Notable Garden’ label indicates gardens of particular interest to the public. In 2013, 382 gardens in France bore this label.

This selection of photographs, from my study on botanical gardens, includes the following Notable Gardens: Botanical Garden of Vauville, Eryignac Manor Garden, The Suspended Gardens of Marqueyssac and Brécy Castle Garden.
