Howrah Junction railway station is location on the west bank of the Hooghly River near Howrah Bridge. This railway station is India’s oldest and busiest in terms of daily passenger volume. It has the highest train-handling capacity of any Indian railway station with 23 platforms and is one of four intercity stations serving the city of Kolkata including Sealdah, Shalimar and Kolkata railway stations.
