Color photograph of dried bloooms on the Giant Honey flower (Melianthus major). Indigenous to South-Africa, this plant has been naturalized in India, Australia and New Zealand. Recognizable by its blue-green serrated leaves and flowering spikes containing nectar, all parts of the plant are poisonous which explains it’s South African nickname the “don’t-touch-me-bush”. It is growing successfully on Tatihou Island, Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue, France.
